Facilities Overview

• Reception and Lobby

  Hariso’s reception area is located in the traditional storehouse building facing the old Oshu Kaido road. Enjoy furniture that reflects the architecture and traditions of the era.

  

• Garden

  The garden, visible from the guest room, retains the essence of a traditional Japanese garden. Guests are invited to appreciate the Garyuu-no-matsu, an ancient pine tree resembling a reclining dragon, while enjoying the ever-changing beauty of the seasons.

  

• Guest Room

  The living room, a 12-tatami mat space, overlooks HARISO’s garden. It preserves the traditional alcove (tokonoma) from its days as a ryokan, offering a blend of modern comfort and nostalgic charm.

  

• Hiroenn

  The irori hearth from the former Hariso Ryokan has been transformed into a table. Guests can sit and enjoy breakfast while taking in the garden view.

  

• Entrance

  The old copper panels from the main building’s roof tiles have been repurposed for the entrance door. Open this unique door to be welcomed by an entrance crafted with local Akiu stone.

  

• Bathroom

  The bathroom features a sink made of Akiu stone and a bathtub crafted from Hida cypress, creating a serene space for relaxation.
